Dietary Unit

The Dietary Section of AccessHealth is in charge of delivering nutritious and healthy meals to patients, visitors, and staff members. It’s primary responsibilities in the hospital are as follows:

Menu planning:
The Dietary Section is in charge of creating and maintaining menus that fulfill the nutritional needs of patients and staff. They take into account patients’ medical problems, cultural preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal and local food availability.

Food preparation and service:
The Dietary Section prepares and serves meals to patients, staff members, and guests. They make certain that meals are cooked in a safe and sanitary atmosphere and that food is served at the correct temperature.

Nutrition assessment:
The Dietary Section collaborates with healthcare providers to analyze nutritional needs and establish tailored nutrition plans for patients. They keep track of patients’ food intake, educate them on healthy eating habits, and change meal plans as needed. For patients with special diets, such as those with diabetes, food allergies, or renal disease, the Dietary Section work closely to healthcare physicians to ensure that patients receive appropriate nutrition therapy.

Food safety and sanitation:
The Dietary Section is in charge of making sure food is prepared and stored in a safe and sanitary manner. Maintaining Food temperatures, managing the kitchen and dining facilities clean, and guarantee that food safety requirements are followed.

PROCESS FLOW FOR CLINICAL / DIET COUNSELING
I. Out – patient

a. Patient enters BAHC

– Security guard will assist the patient

b. Nurse On Duty in reception notifies the Registered Nutritionist Dietitian on duty.

– Nurse On Duty in reception informs the Registered Nutritionist Dietitian on duty for patient to be counseled.
– Nurse On-Duty shall inform patient that consultation is cash basis only. No HMO for dietary consultation.

c. Patient goes directly to dietary

– Patient will go directly to the dietary unit for proper consultation.
– Patient must bring the referral slip from his / her attending physician.

d. Registered Nutritionist Dietitian will conduct nutrition assessment

– Registered Nutritionist Dietitian will assess the patient.

e. RND will conduct / provide diet counseling

– Registered Nutritionist Dietitian shall compute for diet and provide dietary instructions depending on patient’s need.

f. Settle charges

– Registered Nutritionist Dietitian will provide charge slip to patient and shall assist the patient to the cashier department for payment.

– Schedule: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, MONDAY-THURSDAY ONLY
– CASH PAYMENT ONLY, NO HMO CARD ACCEPTED
– Self-Appointment for consultation with Nutritionist – Main Reception shall contact Dietary Section for appointment setting.
– Doctors Referral Slip – Nurse On-Duty shall endorse patient to Dietary Section.
– Patients are advised/required to present the referral slip from physician prior to consultation.
